Motivation: Move At Your Own Pace

Success can be a long road, but well-worth the ride. It doesn’t happen over-night, even though some of us wish it did. What fun would that be? However, success takes a lot of effort, hard work, determination, and dedication.

In school, I always tried not to be the last person to finish a test or worksheet. Although, sometimes I was the last person and I always felt ashamed by it. Even though I shouldn’t have, because everyone moves at their own pace, I just felt my pace was way too slow. That is the same with success, we all move at a different pace and we should not feel ashamed for moving slower than others. Some people will have a successful job or a new house before you do. That is OKAY!

When I see other people reaching their goals and doing good with their lives I get so excited, even if I haven’t reached my goals yet because I would want others to do the same for me. I am genuinely happy for others when they work hard for what they want because they deserve it. There will even be kids younger than you that are doing good for themselves, that still doesn’t mean you have failed. It means if they can do it, YOU CAN TOO.

There are too many jealous individuals in the world that are only waiting for your downfall. They want to see you doing good…But, NEVER better than them. Most of the time, it is the people closest to you. Stay away from those individuals.

We can all succeed, but that doesn’t mean we all will succeed at the same time.

Why can’t we all be happy for one another, even if we don’t have our things in order? That should be motivation for us to keep pushing, because we can be right where they are if we continue to work for it. Success comes with no due date or time limit. However, it is guaranteed that if you put your all in it, you’ll reach it.

So go as slow as you want to, your speed doesn’t matter, forward is forward.

  1. I totally feel you on the test part in school. Was in a hurry to finish when you see even the “less smartest” person finished before you. But agreeing with you on this. It’s not a race (if it really is a race, then you have to run), and we can take things at our own pace and try to help each other. I try to not to take more than I can handle. Thanks for sharing this post.

  2. I 100% agree. I have depression something fierce and it takes me a lot longer to do things because of it. School, moving out, getting a job, etc. But I figure as long as I’m doing it, who cares how long it takes.

    1. Exactly! I’ve suffered from depression as well, it’s gotten better. Now, I sometimes find myself frustrated when I can’t get things done. But eventually, it will get some.

  3. So true Alexis! It’s hard to remember that success has no deadline. It happens when it happens. In the meantime we must continue to take one step forward at a time. Those small steps add up to great success. Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. Success seems like such a simple word, but realistically,it’s a lot like beauty…all in the eyes of the beholder. Who defines success, after all? We all define it for ourselves and if we remember that, we’ll all be much happier with our own success and that of our friends. Great post!
