Why Learning to Forgive Yourself and Others is Important

Forgiveness can unlock many doors for you, if you may not have known. We live in a time where it is more common to hold on to negative situations (hold a grudge), rather than learning how to forgive. That’s the problem!

Have you ever wondered why it’s taking you so long to find your happiness? Why you’re always angry? Well, it may be because you cling on to negativity and haven’t yet learned how to fully let it go. So you let your anger take control of all the hurt that you’re feeling. Stop punishing yourself for the wrongdoings of others.

People are so used to holding grudges that when forgiveness is brought up, most people cringe at the thought of forgiving the ones who’ve hurt them. You can admit it, because I’m definitely with you on that. However, you’re wasting your energy on a situation that cannot be redone or taken back. What are you actually getting out of the situation? Nothing! You’re just being a prisoner to your own negative feelings.

Forgiveness is important because it can unleash you from all the negative emotions you feel towards yourself and/or the person(s) who may have wronged you. Let’s understand that we are going to get hurt by people many times in our life and we will also hurt others, but we cannot turn our backs every time we get kicked in the butt.

There’s a quote that says “You never know how strong you are until you have to forgive someone who wasn’t sorry, and accept an apology you never received.”

Which is so true. Learn to accept what is and let go of the things that is no longer in your control. The one thing that is in your control, is the way you handle the situation. Today is the day to let go of all the things and/or emotions that no longer serves you. The anger and hate that you have buried within for the one(s) who’ve wronged you, it is time to let that all go. It’s time to forgive them and forgive yourself. Forgive yourself because you’re putting all the blame on yourself. Forgive yourself for holding all those negative emotions within yourself. Forgive yourself, because it is time to move on with your life.

There is no longer anything you can do about it and it is time to accept it.

Learn to forgive and watch your life transform.
